Get Cooking With Mary King

Mary King has joined the likes of Raymond Blanc, Dame Judi Dench and Mary Berry in donating recipes to the Child Brain Injury Trust for its fundraising cookbook, 21 Treats for 21 Years. As the title suggests, the charity, which supports families of children with acquired brain injury, celebrates its 21st anniversary in 2012. In the book, Mary King, who is a patron of the Trust, shares her favourite recipe for 'extra juicy flapjack'.

With a foreword by Mary Berry, the book also contains recipes from children and families of those helped by the Trust, as well as instructions for making a 'jelly brain' as used by the charity to demonstrate the fragility of the human brain. As part of its work, the Child Brain Injury Trust provides information and training for healthcare workers in order to help them understand the massive challenges facing those with brain injuries.

The cookbook costs only £5 (plus £1 p&p) and forms part of a programme of events organised this year to raise funds to continue this important work.
